Unreal Engine 5 For Magic Leap 2 Is Now Available!

In today's video, we will cover how to compile Unreal Engine 5 from source. This will include discussing all the ML2 dependencies, developer tools, and environment configurations necessary for integrating the NEW Magic Leap 2 Unreal Plugin. It is also worth noting that this process takes from 4 to 8 hours, as we will be compiling the Unreal game engine from source.

Magic Leap 2 with Unreal Topics

Here are a few areas I cover in this video, which are worth mentioning as you plan to integrate Unreal 5 with your Magic Leap 2 development workflow:

  1. Compiling Unreal 5 from source with or without ML2.

  2. Requesting permissions to the Unreal Engine GitHub repository.

  3. Installing Magic Leap 2 Hub, Magic Leap Unreal SDK, and Magic Leap Native C SDK.

  4. Setting up Magic Leap 2 Android dependencies.

  5. Compiling and building Unreal Engine 5 from source.

  6. Setting up Magic Leap 2 UE5 projects (camera / capsule collisions).

  7. Adding UE5 Magic Leap 2 controller support.

  8. Creating player character animations with ML2 controller inputs.

  9. Providing a project summary and recommending an ML2 development video.

If you are looking to compile and build Unreal Engine 5 from source, then this video is also suitable for you.

Unreal 5 Source Code & Resources

There are two different repositories you can use when cloning the source code for Unreal Engine 5. Additionally, you will be required to obtain permissions before cloning the repositories mentioned below, and all the necessary steps to obtain these permissions are covered in my video.

Let me know if you’ve any questions about this process.

Thanks

Dilmer
