Unboxing the Tilt Five AR Glasses Limited Edition
I recently received an amazing package that I can’t wait to share with you: the Tilt Five Limited Edition AR Glasses.
I am very excited to show you how it works, share what comes in the Limited Edition box, and explain some of the Tilt Five AR Glasses specs.
This device is honestly very unique and there is nothing currently available like it. The glasses are an affordable option for holographic gaming.
You can learn more about Tilt Five here and watch my unboxing video for more.
This blog is not sponsored by Tilt Five. I bought this device as a way to teach the community about this unique approach to augmented reality with a game board.
The Limited Edition Box
This box is so fun. The colors and images they chose are nostalgic for me and remind me of when I was just starting game development.
The inside cover of the box includes clear, illustrated instructions for getting started.
Tilt Five game board
The game board it comes with is pretty large at about 31.5 inches x 31.5 inches. There is a smaller option if you prefer that for things like streaming.
The gameboard technology is super cool. It reflects the video images directly back to your eyes, creating a stereoscopic 3D effect.
Tilt Five AR Glasses
The glasses themselves are really amazing. The miniature projectors send video images from your PC to the gameboard.
Materials
The glasses frames are made of a bio-compatible silicone rubber that is a sustainable material. This material helps make the glasses pretty lightweight.
Audio tech
The AR Glasses provide stereo speakers; one on each arm. There is also a microphone which can be used during private chat experiences and audio over USB as a composite device.
Camera tech
The glasses use 110 FOV and 2 PICO Projectors.
They also include a head-tracking camera that allows you to connect with the world and always know where your gameboard is.
The is also a tangible tracking camera, also known as a TT camera, which uses computer vision technology.
Controller
The glasses come with a wireless, handheld wand controller. You can direct, interact, and ‘touch’ holograms using the controller.
It is a bit large, and many people have compared it to a BBQ lighter—which it does remind me of. However, it has some really cool technology in it!
The controller has 6 degrees of motion (6 DOF). This means it will track both location and position. It is also able to make calculations so that it is aware of 3D space. This information gets sent to the game space and allows you to do some really cool things in 3D.
The controller charges with a USB-C cable. It also has 2 slots for AA batteries.
The controller connects to your computer via Bluetooth. It is currently just available for PC, but android is coming soon.
The controller is similar to the classic controller. You can use these glasses with the classic controller if you prefer.
Wrapping Up
I personally love the Tilt Five AR Glasses and couldn’t hesitate the importance of getting your own pair, I believe these AR Glasses will help you not only in creating and viewing games from a new perspective but also displaying information in a way that it is more engaging and easier to consume.
